About Us
English 360 is is a small international group of language teachers and software developers. The English360 platform is a first step towards how we think the web can best be used for community language learning: collaborative, personalized, and performance-based.
The English 360 Content Contributors Are
Eric Baber
Eric tutors on The Consultants-E's online courses. He has been involved in online education since the 1990s, has founded an online language school, and has produced online content for undergraduate and postgraduate university courses in the UK. Eric authored the Negotiation project.
Valentina Dodge
Valentina tutors on The Consultants-E's online courses. She is a teacher, teacher trainer and online tutor, and she co-manages a small business consultancy specialising in tailor-made Business courses. Valentina authored the Intercultural Communication project.
Carl Dowse
Carl is a full-time lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany. He has also developed and runs online courses for multi-national companies based in Germany such as the Bertelsmann Group. Carl authored the Business Presentations in English project.
Gavin Dudeney
Gavin is Project Director at The Consultants-E. He has worked in education since 1988 as a teacher, materials developer, IT manager and web/user interface designer. Gavin provided tech support and voiceovers for many of the e360 projects.
Nicky Hockly
Nicky is responsible for overall project management and edition of e360-authored materials development. Nicky is Director of Pedagogy at The Consultants-E. She has been involved in language teaching, teacher training, materials development and instructional design, both online and f2f, since 1987.
Jane Howes
Jane tutors on The Consultants-E's online courses. She has been teaching and training since 1989. After working in Australia and Asia for 10 years, teaching, training and developing programmes in Japan, Thailand and Vietnam, she has most recently been involved in online materials development with Netlanguages in Barcelona, Spain. Jane authored the Business Communication project.
The English 360 Software Team Is
Sean Bates
Sean helps English360 with design, marketing and brand development. He recently started a personal design consultancy with an emphasis on strategic design and brand development. He spent the last 7 years at Axis41 creating successful design, brand development, advertising and online campaigns for national accounts. With a traditional design education, Sean has been able to apply the timeless fundamentals of design to the ever-changing challenges and opportunities of new media.
Joshua Bryant
Joshua Bryant is a web & user interface designer who loves his job and has a lot of fun doing it. You can catch his nonsensical blog at joshuabryant.com. When not working, he's spending time with his always-growing family, playing guitar or pursuing other creative ventures. Joshua is based out of Seattle, WA.
Chuck Mallot
Chuck Mallott is an Interface Designer with over 7 years of experience in the web industry. Chuck is the Founder and Creative Director of Oaktree Creative, a small web design studio in McKinney, Texas and has worked as a designer for EDS, Rosetta Stone and Sabre. Chuck's expertise in graphic design enhances his skills in information architecture, user experience and front-end code (xhtml/css). Chuck has created interfaces for a wide range of websites, e-commerce, content management systems and other web-based applications.
Carson McComas
Carson runs the web consultancy FrogBody where he specializes in helping businesses use the Internet to market. He also runs the entrepreneur blog WorkHappy.net. Carson is based out of Washington State, in the US.
Cleve Miller
Since 1988 Cleve has designed, managed and taught business English programs in 11 countries to thousands of students in over fifty Global-500 companies. He has been named a “global expert” by the American Society of Training and Development and has created client presentations for both the Clinton and Bush administrations. Cleve is based out of Miami, Florida in the US.
Jonathan Snook
Jonathan Snook is a founder of Sidebar Creative and a recognized leader in web application design and development. His tech blog at www.snook.ca has a readership of thousands and was nominated for a People?s Choice Award at the 2007 SxSW conference. Jonathan is based out of Ottawa, Canada.
Chris Renner
Chris Renner is the lead software developer for the English360 web application. He likes to keep a low profile, but you'll usually find him doing web development in Cleveland, Ohio, or in a studio somewhere working on one of several musical endeavors.
Lisa Wenninger
Lisa was key in helping us write the help documentation for our web application. A seasoned technical writer, she brought her expertise to English360.
Diana Wynne
Diana J. Wynne believes technology should serve the needs of people, not the other way around. She's designed useful, usable software and innovative interactive content for kids, priests, executives, hematologists, and geeks. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vassar College, Diana lives in San Francisco and blogs about user experience at www.chestnutdrive.com.
